Janine L. Spears, PhD


Janine Spears is an Associate Professor at DePaul University’s School of Computing where she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in cybersecurity, information systems, and computer science. Professor Spears’ research interests include information security risk management, the cybersecurity workforce, and online consumer privacy. She serves as Co-Founder and Co-Director of DePaul's Cybersecurity Clinic, and is Program Director of the Atlantis Dual-Degree Study Abroad program.

Professor Spears holds a PhD from Penn State University's Smeal College of Business, an MBA from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management, and a B.S. from California State University at Los Angeles’ College of Business. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at HEC Montreal, a business college in Quebec Canada
